SFGH Partners Provide Pro Bono Assistance to Illinois Disability Rights Group
SFGH partners recently provided pro bono legal services to ADA 25 Advancing Leadership, previously a project of the Chicago Community Trust, to help it become an independent section 501(c)(3) tax-exempt not-for-profit corporation. Advancing Leadership seeks to foster civic and professional leadership by individuals with disabilities.
Etahn Cohen and Michelle Huhnke, SFGH partners, were instrumental in forming the corporation, crafting the application for tax-exempt status and helping Advancing Leadership with other contractual relationships. Emily Harris, Executive Director of ADA 25, said, “Sugar Felsenthal Grais and Helsinger has guided us through a sometimes-difficult process of becoming an independent organization advocating for the equal opportunity of individuals with disabilities to serve in leadership roles. We thank them for their generous support with this process.”
