Jeremy T. Waitzman authored an article appearing on the Financial Poise website entitled “The NYC Bar Versus the Litigation Funding Industry.” In the article, Waitzman walks through a recent ethics opinion from the NYC Bar Association with respect to the permissibility of litigation funding arrangements with law firms and concludes that the NYCBA largely relies on vague assertions and the fuzzy interpretation of existing court precedent in New York in reaching its determinations.
