Gainsharing and Pay for Performance - A Regulatory Breakthrough, but Challenges Remain
Office of Inspector General opinions allowed certain gainsharing arrangements to proceed. This presentation discussed the history of the prohibition on gainsharing arrangements, the reasons for OIG revisiting its position on these arrangements, the features of the gainsharing programs that caused the OIG to permit the specific arrangements it approved, and thus guide the formation of new gainsharing programs.
